260,000+ attend Tea Parties

So sayeth Nate Silver. I believe the Obama campaign would call that "Portland, St. Louis, and Kansas City".

Immigration rally organizers would call it "Between one-half and two-thirds of Dallas".

If I had as many organizations, professional political consultants and moneymen helping me as they did for their teabagging, I could get an equal amount of people protesting against, plus just as many protesting in favor of, cucumbers. Or bellybutton lint. In fact, I could probably get an order of magnitude more for bellybutton lint.

I live in a smallish mid-western city, and the entire national teabag turnout didn't exceed my city's population.

Of course the against the Iraq war protests before the war were much bigger than my city's population. 750,000 in D.C. alone, and many other protests across the US. But that didn't warrant coverage. But these tiny teabag demonstrations deserve coverage.
