What's Next, Imaginary Street Signs?

National Journal has a "scandalous" report that an underwhelming minority of Obama appointees—11 whole percent!—have been registered lobbyists at some point in the last five years. Obama's rules state that you can't work in the Administration if you've been a lobbyist in the last two years. Or ratehr, they say you can't work in an area where you've lobbied. And no, this is not some "govern in prose" walkback of a campaign promise; it matches the pledges he was making in 2007. In essence, National Journal has decided that after Barack Obama tried to meet any higher standard on lobbying and ethics than the law allows, he should be held to whatever arbitrarily high standard reporters can come up with.
