Ad pages have been falling all year, and the decline has accelerated as the economy has gotten worse. Also, lots of writers are getting laid off, magazines are closing, and the number of new magazines being launched is way down. The industry has been hit hard, which is exactly what you'd predict in an economic downturn. If you follow industry news, they talk about all this stuff, like, basically every day.The industry's fourth quarter numbers haven't come out yet, and won't (I bet) for another month or so. So you won't be able to find aggregate numbers that capture what's been going on in the last few months.
